America @ 250: Happy 4th of July!
As the nation commemorates its 250th anniversary, The Saratoga Foundation—a U.S. think tank named after the historic Revolutionary War battle that marked a turning point in America’s war for independence—would like to wish everyone a Happy Fourth of July! On this historic occasion, we would like to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to our supporters, both here at home and overseas.
Just as the Battle of Saratoga in 1777 proved to be a turning point in America’s founding, this holiday we honor the valiant efforts of the Ukrainian people. They continue to fight bravely to preserve their own independence at a critical geographic crossroads—in what has become the longest and bloodiest conflict in Europe since the Second World War.
In a historic address to a joint session of Congress in December 2022, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy invoked the Battle of Saratoga, highlighting how the battle proved to be a turning point that led to the victory of the thirteen colonies in the American Revolution.
While the Ukraine war is far from over, Saratoga remains deeply committed to providing the timely, rigorous analysis needed to understand this conflict, as well as other critical flashpoints across the Eurasian Rimland—work that cannot be done without your interest and support.
