The Saratoga Foundation

In 1777, the Battle of Saratoga was one of the key turning points of the American Revolutionary War, signaling a major shift in the American war for independence that awakened a sleeping Europe to the cause of liberty.

Today, one of the largest conflicts in Europe fought since the end of the Second World War is taking place in Ukraine as a vicious war engulfs a key crossroads of Europe and Eurasia. As the tides of history sweep this embattled region, the Ukraine war marks a major turning point in the struggle for a key part of the world that remains known to many Americans but deserves closer scrutiny, support, and attention.

The Saratoga Foundation was founded for the purpose of deepening public awareness - not only about Ukraine - but the other moving parts of the Eurasian chessboard through the writings and insights of some of the leading strategic thinkers and experts in the world on this region.

From the Black Sea steppes and beyond, the mission of The Saratoga Foundation is to keep a watchful eye on all things Eurasia, whether it is a revanchist Russia or a rising China bent on dominating Inner Asia - or the widening trans-Caspian axis of Iran and Russia, all of these states are determined to reshape the Eurasian chessboard to suit their respective strategic interests.

By bringing together prominent indigenous experts and other experts to identify the emerging array of threats, The Saratoga Foundation seeks to help US decision-makers better understand the complex set of issues uniting the interests of Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea, and how this ‘Eurasian Quad’ stand to transform the geopolitics of Eurasia.
